The current restrictions mean a lot of our group social activities are restricted. With this in mind I have developed an online Magic Workshop based on my face to face workshop that is a lot of fun and would be a great activity for your social group’s members in these challenging times.
The format of the session begins with me sending out a 'secret package' to each participant containing all of the materials, props and items they will need for the session. The arrival of the package builds a lovely expectation for the event. After the session I share a workbook with notes and instructions.
We then meet on a zoom or other system if you have a preferred option, and I take the group through the workshop. We open the secret packages as we go, exploring their contents.
We will take the magicians oath and learn several classic magic effects that are fun to perform, simple to do and really magical. Some of the effects happen right in front of the participants eyes, seemingly without them doing anything. I end the workshop with a brilliant effect that generates free drinks at your bar/coffee shop of choice when they all reopen!
We learn as a group and there are no forced performances for anyone, I won't make them perform in front of their peers, this can be a worry for people, and my main aim for the workshop is for us to have fun and spread a little magic everyone can do. I have run the workshop for groups ranging from 5 year olds to retirees and it is both accessible and enjoyable.
I use two cameras to give both a front view of me and an 'over my shoulder view' that means you see what I see when making the magic happen, which makes the learning process much easier.
I have been a professional magician and storyteller for over 11 years and before that I was an IT trainer in the corporate world for 10 years. Your group is safe in my hands.
Don’t take my word for it, here are some comments from previous attendees:
